Since it’s Friday and the topic this week has been antioxidants and feeling good, I thought it would be a great opportunity to shed some light on the health benefits of red wine!!
Resveratrol, is the antioxidant that can be found in grape skins, used in the fermentation of red wine. Like most antioxidants, resveratrol has the ability to reduce the harmful effects of free radicals, on our bodies tissues. A new study quoted on WebMD, shows that resveratrol also has the ability to target cancer cells from within, crippling their energy and destroying them all together. Not only helping to prevent cancer but also destroying it!! That’s not all!! Lets not forget red wine’s ability to prevent heart disease by strengthening artery walls, helping to prevent the damaging effects of bad cholesterol, how awesome!!
Now, before you go hitting the bottle, keep in mind that the positive effects will not extend past a glass or two a night. Consuming too much alcohol in general has an entire encyclopedia of negative health effects…so lets make sure to consume this red delicacy in moderation!!
