It is Friday and nearing the end of a crazy week! After coming home earlier this week, I walked in my house only to find my dog Jack’s neck covered in blood. As I peeled away the fur from his skin, I saw what looked like a moist, raw sore. I wasn’t sure if my other dog nipped at him, or if he just scratched himself to this point but I immediately switched into Paramedic mode looking to prevent infection. I discovered that baking soda and water together work well as a natural antiseptic and I applied this to the wound using a clean cotton pad. With hopes it was nothing more then a small wound, this was a simple solution. To my surprise after an entire night of scratching and pacing the hallway, I awoke to a wound that not only looked more irritated but had continued to spread!! Panicked and on the verge of an expensive trip to the Vet…I decided to dig a little deeper and see if I could get my own answers to this very sudden, spreading wound. What I quickly learned was that my dog had developed a Hot Spot. Very common in certain breeds…I felt at ease to know that many dogs experience them and they can easily be treated. At your local vet, depending on the severity, it is as simple as a cortisone shot…but I was determined to find a natural cure for this acute dermatitis. For anyone who is not familiar with Hot Spots, they generally stem from an over production of bacteria; swimming in lakes and not drying properly are perfect conditions to develop these very painful, moist, bleeding sores.
I was told about Sovereign Silver as a possible solution to this out of control, rapidly replicating bacterial infection. Sovereign silver consists of silver atoms suspended in distilled ion-less water. The particles of silver are small enough to penetrate on a cellular level and destroy pathogens of all types, including bacteria, fungal spores, parasites, and viruses.
Not only does silver get rid of pathogens, it helps promote rapid healing of the tissues infected or destroyed. Most burn centers use various forms of silver and silver soaked bandaging for burn victims. Because it is derived naturally, silver is safe to treat both pets and humans and has been known to be a very affective antiseptic and antibacterial treatment. Sold in a spray bottle, I tried this amazing product on my dogs Hot Spot and within a day it stopped the spreading and in days it healed the raw, tissue!! I am sold!! At the cost of $15 at a local health food store…not only did I avoid expensive vet bills but I found a healthier alternative that was safe for Jack:)
For all the pet lovers out there…this is an amazing product that not only heals external wounds, but internal parasites, prevents fleas, heals ear infections…the list is long but awesome!!
