Market Meets Cafe In Downtown Barrie…

29 (1)

As an advocate for ethical, sustainable and locally sourced foods, I felt it only made sense to connect and share with you a local business that is practicing what I preach.4

Set back from the shores of Kempenfelt Bay, The Local Foods Mart is truly a hidden gem in Barrie’s downtown core.  With it’s quant, rustic meets modern interior, this market incorporates elements of exposed brick and chunky wood, giving the space38 an earthy and calming energy. Owners and Operators Julian Daniel and Chan-Ju Park had a beautiful vision that they have brought to fruition in a very special way.  No detail left behind, with only the highest standards they have hand-picked each farm to source everything in their market from dairy, fruits and vegetables to a wide variety of meats. Each animal ethically raised, every chicken free to roam, dairy made of just one simple ingredient, there really isn’t anything they haven’t thought of.

Are you vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free??

The menu has been brilliantly crafted to fit every taste bud and dietary limitation, with no one left behind.  In the kitchen, the incredible Chef, Laurie Savoie Tester uses her mastery to create new and savory dishes everyday.  With her unique and diverse culinary skills, Laurie has more then vision…she is a true artist in the art of food. 42

Stop in and grab a gourmet meal for the whole family, just warm and serve…

13How about a cup of Java?

Every bean ground, fresh per order from only the best locally sourced roasters, with rainforest alliance and fair trade in mind.  Enjoy a mouth watering selection of fresh muffins, tarts and croissants, baked fresh each morning, a great compliment to any coffee or latte. 18

Juliane and Chan-Ju Park truly were limitless with their humble visions; where market meets cafe and farm meets table, the Local Foods Mart is like nothing of it’s kind, a one-stop-shop found in the heart of Barrie’s downtown core.27
