Well 2016 has arrived…Happy New Year to all my subscribers and thank you for being such an integral part of The Nude Mushroom’s success!!!
As I reflect on that last year and the incredible strides that The Nude Mushroom and I have made, I can’t help but feel accomplished. I have pushed myself outside of my comfort zone; overcoming my fear of public speaking by taking The Nude Mushroom to the classroom setting. In 2015 The Nude Mushroom also took on a “New” look, with the talented Lydia from L.B. Photography animating my site, giving it life. She was able to help me create a more intimate space that gives my readers the ability to connect with me on a more personal level.
We have expanded our reach internationally. It’s been slow but progressive; influencing health across the world. I am grateful to share such invaluable information; discussing foods that heal the body, full body workouts anyone can do, as well as health promoting recipes. Together, these topics create the foundation for The Nude Mushroom blog; educating and empowering you to take control of your personal health.
As we embrace the first week of 2016 I would like to take the opportunity to highlight my 3 favourite blog posts written over the last 12 months. Each one bursting with valuable information that gifts you with the tools to change your health, creating a vibrant, energetic and healthier version of yourself!!
- “Take a Gut Check” – Start incorporating healthy bacterias into your diet everyday. Try mixing it up with Kombucha Tea, Sauerkraut, Kimchi or coconut kefir! This will do wonders for your health, your digestion, immune function and overall wellbeing!!
- “Eliminate Cancer Causing Toxins” – 85% of Cancer is caused by lifestyle choices. That means you can choose Cancer, Cancer doesn’t choose you (in the majority of cases). Choose a new path for 2016, that will reduce your risk of Cancer. Making changes such as, choosing whole foods over processed foods (found on the outside perimeter of your grocery store). Use natural skin/hair products; reducing your exposure to toxic chemicals that come in direct contact with the skin (see my upcoming post for natural skin care found in your kitchen cupboard). Also, using natural products like, vinegar, baking soda & lemon to make your own at home cleaning products; prevent over-exposure to cancer-causing- toxins such as, formaldehyde.
- Prevent Heart Disease – There is no way around it, 95% of all heart disease (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, stroke, heart attack and CHF) are ultimately caused by the health choices you make each day. Eating a predominately whole food based diet, avoiding deep fried and proccessed foods, not smoking, as well as participating in a minimum of 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise 3 times a week, are choices you can make that can affect whether your ticker keeps on ticking!!
