My Fast-Food Breakfast Secret: Mango-Kale Powerhouse Smoothie!!!

The last few weeks have brought lots of sad news.  Three weeks ago a fellow co-worker was diagnosed with cancer in his kidney and just yesterday another co-worker was given a diagnosis of a brain tumour that requires immediate intervention.  These are the same people that show up to your rescue when you call 911, suffering with their own health emergencies.  It sends chills down my spine to think that these vibrant souls are suffering with these conditions that have stolen good health away.

Now more then ever, I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to take care of your body fully and completely.  85% of Cancers are caused by poor lifestyle choices and 90% of chronic illnesses are also attributed to these same choices.  Our health is not something to be taken for granted, it’s a gift and we have to maintain it everyday just as we do our external apprearence .  We have the opportunity to nourish our bodies with nutrient dense foods and condition it with an active lifestyle; by giving your body these detrimental, necessities of health, you arm your internal environment with the tools required for daily cell repair, detoxification and mental wellness.  Today I want everyone to rethink their health routine..  Are you doing everything you can to take care of your body?  Do you make excuses to eat breakfast (the most important meal of the day) or do you stop off at Tim Hortons to grab a bagel because you didn’t make time?

I want to share with you my 7 minute smoothie recipe, that provides my body with a balance of macro and micro nutrients, allowing me to start my day feeling energetic and vibrant!!   Smoothies are an incredible way to get good nutrition on the go, otherwise known as health fast-food!!  My smoothie blend Incorporates brain nourishing omega fats,  a wide variety of vitamins and minerals, alongside immune boosting proteins all working synergistically, giving your body the opportunity to start the day off the right way!

Mango-Kale Powerhouse Smoothie!!

Serves: 2

2 cups Unsweetened Cashew Milk

1 handful frozen mango

1 handful frozen wild blueberries

1 frozen banana (or fresh, just add an ice cube)

1 handful of Spinach

1 kale leaf

1/2 Avocado

1 tsp flax meal

1 tsp chia seeds

1 scoop plant based vanilla protein powder (I use Complete Protein- contact me for more info on where to find this)
