Could Your Hormones Be Affecting Your Weight Loss??? Try This Hormone Balancing Diet!!

Good Monday morning!!  For todays post, I wanted to touch on the important topic of hormones.  I have many clients that come to me, suffering from the negative implications of hormone imbalances.  It’s no secret that as human beings we produce an array of hormones that not only regulate our bodily functions but can also be the culprit in excessive mood fluctuations. If you find your self suffering from  “Jekyll and Hide” mood swings, unwarranted weight gain, or struggles to losing weight (despite exercise and healthy eating habits), your hormones could be to blame!!

There are many factors that can contribute to hormone imbalances, such as:

  1. Stimulants (coffee, caffeine, caffeinated teas)
  2. Alchohol
  3. Sugar & Sweeteners (sugar-substitutes)
  4. Refined/processed foods
  5. Dairy
  6. All grains, grain products
  7. Vegetables : corn or corn products
  8. Hydrogenated Oils
  9. Peanuts/peanut products
  10. Citrus Fruits – orange, tangerine and grapefruit
  11. Red Meat

We may be consuming at least, one or more these foods on a daily basis and could be contributing to excessive hormone fluctuations. When our hormones are not in balance, our body can be tricked into holding on to weight or storing glucose (the end product of carbohydrate breakdown) as fats.  As a way to combat this problem, I suggest that you try this hormone balancing diet.  As a nutritionist, I do not promote “dieting” but eating clean and hormone-free for a short period of time is important for detoxification, hormone-balancing and to regain control over cravings. I like to use this diet as a reset, four times a year (as the seasons change).  Give it a try and enjoy how amazing you will feel!!
