Bountiful, Beet and Pineapple Breakfast Delight!!

This week in Ontario…the weather was amazing but very hot and muggy. It is the kind of summer weather, that makes you want to eat less and drink more!!  Basically borderline uncomfortable…  With that said, I feel like drinking a cold smoothie can be sooo refreshing and lets not forget nourishing!!beets-red-ace-flickr  I had some beets in my fridge, that were in need of use…so why not incorporate them in my morning smoothie??!!  The result…an absolutely delicious drink, rich in health-promoting, cancer-fighting nutrients!!

What may look like to some as just another root vegetable, is a powerful healing tool to others!!  Beets are well known for their ability to cleanse the blood, curing it from diseases of the circulatory and digestive systems, as well as the large intestine (1).  In addition to these properties, they have also been found to increase the bodies own glutathione production; a substance naturally produced by the liver, which detoxifies the cancer-causing poisons that we take in (2).  Beets have also been shown in some studies to breakdown and eliminate tumors, making them an absolute must in your weekly health routine!!

I have created this beet beauty, to not only be well well versed in health promoting nutrients but also to be balanced in micro and macro nutrients – making it nothing less then a glass of delicious, beer-perfection!

Bountiful, Beet & Pineapple Breakfast Delight

Servings: 2

2 cups – Unsweetened Cashew Milk

1 peeled beet

1/2 cup – Fresh pineapple

1/2 cup – wild blueberries

1 Organic Banana

1 handful of spinach

1 scoop – Plant based protien in Vanilla  (I prefer Juice Plus – Complete)

2 tsp – Flax seed oil

1 tsp – Chia seeds

4 Ice cubes

Blend & Serve!!
